Position Overview
ISO Workforce Alliance is seeking a compassionate and dedicated School-Based Social Worker to support students' social, emotional, and behavioral well-being in an Illinois school district. The ideal candidate is passionate about helping students overcome barriers to learning, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and fostering positive school climates.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide individual and group counseling to students experiencing social, emotional, behavioral, or mental health challenges.
• Conduct social and developmental assessments to identify student needs and recommend appropriate interventions.
• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized intervention plans.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, school psychologists, counselors, and related service providers to support student success.
• Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and contribute to eligibility, planning, and progress monitoring.
• Provide crisis intervention and risk assessments as needed.
• Connect students and families with community resources, counseling services, and social support programs.
• Consult with parents and guardians regarding student progress, behavioral concerns, and available supports.
• Assist with attendance improvement initiatives, behavior intervention planning, and positive behavioral supports.
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with federal, state, and district regulations.
• Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment for all students.
Qualifications
• Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution.
• Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with School Social Worker endorsement required.
• Current Illinois licensure in good standing.
• Experience working in K-12 educational settings preferred.
• Strong knowledge of special education laws, IEP processes, and student support services.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
• Ability to build strong relationships with students, families, and educational staff.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with crisis prevention and intervention.
• Knowledge of trauma-informed care and restorative practices.
• Familiarity with behavior intervention strategies and social-emotional learning programs.
