Position Summary
The Special Education Teacher provides specialized instruction and case management services for students with disabilities in accordance with each student's Individualized Education Program (IEP). The teacher works collaboratively with general education staff, administrators, related service providers, and families to ensure students receive an exceptional educational experience.
Responsibilities
• Develop and implement IEP goals and specialized instruction
• Provide direct instruction in individual and small-group settings
• Maintain accurate documentation and progress monitoring
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and participate in IEP meetings
• Implement positive behavior support strategies
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and district special education regulations
• Communicate regularly with parents, caregivers, and school personnel
Qualifications
• Valid California Education Specialist Teaching Credential
• Appropriate authorization to teach Special Education in California
• Knowledge of IDEA, IEP development, and special education compliance
• Strong classroom management and collaboration skills
• Previous school-based experience preferred
