About the Role

ISO Workforce Alliance is partnering with a large, diverse, and student-centered public school system in Rockford, Illinois to place a School Nurse – Certified Support for the current or upcoming school year.

This role is ideal for a licensed nurse who is passionate about student health, safety, and well-being and who values collaboration with educators, families, and healthcare providers. You will play a critical role in supporting students’ physical and emotional health so they can access their education fully and safely.

As an ISO-supported nurse, you will receive dedicated recruiter support, onboarding assistance, and ongoing advocacy throughout your assignment.

What You’ll Do

As a School Nurse – Certified Support, you will:

  • Provide direct nursing services to students in accordance with state and district policies

  • Assess and respond to student health needs, including illness, injury, and chronic conditions

  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed and document appropriately

  • Develop and implement Individualized Health Plans (IHPs) and emergency care plans

  • Collaborate with families, physicians, and school staff to support medically fragile students

  • Participate in 504 meetings and support health-related accommodations

  • Monitor immunization records and health compliance requirements

  • Provide health education to students and staff as needed

  • Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential health records

  • Serve as a key member of the school’s multidisciplinary support team

Illinois Requirements

Candidates must hold:

  • Valid Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license

  • Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with School Nurse endorsement or eligibility to obtain

  • Current CPR/BLS certification

Preferred Experience:

  • Prior experience in a school, pediatric, or community health setting

  • Experience working with students with chronic or complex medical needs

  • Familiarity with 504 plans, IHPs, and school-based health services

  • Comfort collaborating with educators, families, and healthcare providers
