About the Role

ISO Workforce Alliance is partnering with a welcoming and collaborative school community in Beach Park, Illinois to place a Student Services / Special Education Resource Teacher for the current or upcoming school year.

This role is ideal for a mission-driven educator who is passionate about supporting students with disabilities in a structured, supportive, and inclusive learning environment. You will serve as a key member of the Student Services team, ensuring that students receive individualized instruction, meaningful accommodations, and legally compliant special education services.

As an ISO-supported teacher, you will receive dedicated recruiter support, onboarding assistance, and ongoing advocacy throughout your assignment.

What You’ll Do

As a Special Education Resource Teacher, you will:

  • Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in alignment with IDEA and Illinois state requirements

  • Provide direct specialized instruction to students in a resource setting

  • Support students’ academic, behavioral, and social-emotional growth

  • Collaborate with general education teachers to support inclusion and accommodations

  • Participate in IEP meetings with families, administrators, and multidisciplinary teams

  • Collect and analyze student data to guide instructional decisions

  • Maintain accurate, timely, and audit-ready special education documentation

  • Partner with related service providers including school psychologists, speech-language pathologists, and social workers

  • Promote a classroom culture that emphasizes respect, belonging, and independence

Illinois Requirements

Candidates must hold:

  • Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with:

    • Learning Behavior Specialist I (LBS1) endorsement

  • Bachelor’s degree in Special Education (Master’s preferred)

  • Strong understanding of IDEA, Section 504, and Illinois special education regulations

Preferred Experience:

  • Prior experience in a resource or inclusion setting

  • Experience with IEP development and progress monitoring

  • Familiarity with Illinois special education documentation systems

  • Background in behavior supports or MTSS frameworks
