About the Role
ISO Workforce Alliance is partnering with a welcoming and collaborative school community in Beach Park, Illinois to place a Student Services / Special Education Resource Teacher for the current or upcoming school year.
This role is ideal for a mission-driven educator who is passionate about supporting students with disabilities in a structured, supportive, and inclusive learning environment. You will serve as a key member of the Student Services team, ensuring that students receive individualized instruction, meaningful accommodations, and legally compliant special education services.
As an ISO-supported teacher, you will receive dedicated recruiter support, onboarding assistance, and ongoing advocacy throughout your assignment.
What You’ll Do
As a Special Education Resource Teacher, you will:
Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in alignment with IDEA and Illinois state requirements
Provide direct specialized instruction to students in a resource setting
Support students’ academic, behavioral, and social-emotional growth
Collaborate with general education teachers to support inclusion and accommodations
Participate in IEP meetings with families, administrators, and multidisciplinary teams
Collect and analyze student data to guide instructional decisions
Maintain accurate, timely, and audit-ready special education documentation
Partner with related service providers including school psychologists, speech-language pathologists, and social workers
Promote a classroom culture that emphasizes respect, belonging, and independence
Illinois Requirements
Candidates must hold:
Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with:
Learning Behavior Specialist I (LBS1) endorsement
Bachelor’s degree in Special Education (Master’s preferred)
Strong understanding of IDEA, Section 504, and Illinois special education regulations
Preferred Experience:
Prior experience in a resource or inclusion setting
Experience with IEP development and progress monitoring
Familiarity with Illinois special education documentation systems
Background in behavior supports or MTSS frameworks
