Special Education Resource Teacher

Resource Teacher — School-Based

Pay: $85–$95 per hour 
Schedule: Full-Time | School Year Position
Setting: Elementary / Middle School Support Services
Reports To: School Principal and/or Department Lead

Position Overview

ISO Workforce Alliance is seeking an experienced Resource Teacher to serve as an instructional leader and support partner to classroom teachers, instructional aides, families, and students. This role provides expertise in curriculum planning, instructional strategies, and differentiated supports to improve academic outcomes for designated students.

The Resource Teacher plays a key role in supporting educators, strengthening instructional practice, and ensuring that students with diverse learning needs receive high-quality, equitable instruction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as an instructional and curriculum resource to teachers and classroom staff.

  • Support teachers in diagnosing student learning needs and developing targeted instructional strategies.

  • Recommend and model the use of instructional materials, interventions, and teaching methodologies.

  • Provide in-service training and professional development for certificated staff, classified staff, parents, and volunteers.

  • Consult with teachers on individual student instructional challenges and differentiation strategies.

  • Manage and maintain learning resources and instructional materials to support curriculum implementation.

  • Collaborate with families regarding students’ educational needs and progress.

  • Promote positive collaboration and professional relationships among school staff.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid California teaching, administrative, or special credential.

  • Minimum of 3 years of classroom teaching experience.

  • Experience supporting diverse learners, including educationally disadvantaged and/or gifted students preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong understanding of curriculum design, instructional methodology, and differentiated instruction.

  • Knowledge of instructional strategies for diverse learners, including culturally responsive teaching practices.

  • Ability to coach, support, and collaborate with educators and families.

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and facilitation skills.

  • Bilingual and bicultural skills a plus.
