Special Education Teacher – Mild/Moderate & Moderate/Severe (ESN)

Location: Hayward, CA
Schedule: Full-Time | School-Year Position
Pay: $65–$75 per hour (based on experience and placement)

ISO Workforce Alliance is seeking dedicated Special Education Teachers to support students in Mild/Moderate and Moderate/Severe (Extensive Support Needs) classrooms in the Hayward area. These positions are ideal for educators who are passionate about inclusive education, structured instruction, and supporting students with diverse learning and behavioral needs.

Position Overview

Special Education Teachers will provide individualized instruction, develop and implement IEPs, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support student growth in academic, behavioral, and functional skill areas. Classroom placements may include resource, self-contained, or specialized day classes, depending on credentialing and experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct instruction aligned with students’ IEP goals

  • Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)

  • Support students with mild/moderate or moderate/severe disabilities, including ESN

  • Implement evidence-based instructional and behavioral strategies

  • Collect and analyze data to monitor student progress

  • Collaborate with general education staff, related service providers, and families

  • Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with state and federal guidelines

Requirements / Qualifications

  • Valid California Education Specialist Instruction Credential

    • Authorization to teach students with Mild/Moderate disabilities and/or

    • Authorization to teach students with Moderate/Severe disabilities (ESN)

  • Valid CLAD or EL Authorization

  • Strong understanding of special education laws and best practices

  • Ability to support students in achieving their optimal potential

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
