
Behavior Specialist

Pay: $55–$65 per hour, depending on experience and scope of responsibilities
ISO Workforce Alliance is seeking an experienced Behavior Specialist to support school-based teams through positive behavior supports, functional behavior assessments, and behavior intervention planning. This is a consultative, senior-level role supporting students, staff, and school systems.
The Behavior Specialist works collaboratively with educators, administrators, and support staff to improve student outcomes through evidence-based behavioral strategies. This role focuses on conducting FBAs, developing and monitoring BIPs, supporting staff training, and assisting with crisis prevention and intervention.
This is not a 1:1 classroom role. The position supports multiple classrooms and school teams.
Conduct and support Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs)
Develop, implement, and monitor Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs)
Train and coach teachers and paraprofessionals in behavior management strategies
Support classroom-level and school-wide positive behavior systems
Use data to monitor progress and guide behavior interventions
Provide consultation during behavioral crises and support de-escalation strategies
Collaborate with school staff, related service providers, and families
Deliver professional development related to behavior support
Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with:
Special Education (LBS 1 and/or LBS 2), or
School Psychology
Minimum 5 years of experience supporting students with behavioral needs
Strong knowledge of FBAs, BIPs, and function-based interventions
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Strong communication skills and professional judgment
